Google review QR code
Turn a happy customer into a review, on the spot.
Most people mean to leave a review and never do. A code at the counter removes every step between goodwill and a posted rating — and reviews are one of the strongest local ranking signals in Australia.
The password is encoded into the image itself. Print it only where you’re happy for guests to scan it.

Error correction raised to H so the logo doesn’t break the code.
This logo covers a lot of the code. Switch error correction to H and test the printed result before you order a run.

Getting the right link
Find your review link first
You need the link that opens the review box directly, not your general listing. Two ways to get it:
- In your Google Business Profile, open Read reviews, then Get more reviews. Google gives you a short link.
- Or search your business on Google Maps, choose Share, and copy the link — then confirm it opens the star rating box on a phone.
Test it on a phone while signed out of your own account. If it lands on your listing instead of the rating box, it is the wrong link.
Where to put it
| Placement | Why it works |
|---|---|
| Counter card at payment | Catches the moment goodwill is highest |
| Printed on the receipt | Travels home with the customer |
| Back of a business card | Works for tradies with no shopfront |
| Inside the delivery box | Reaches online-only customers |
| Email signature (PNG) | Free reach on every message you send |
Stay on the right side of the rules
Google prohibits review gating — screening for happy customers and only showing them the link. It also prohibits paying for reviews. Offering a discount in exchange for a rating breaches Google’s policy and can draw attention from the ACCC for misleading conduct.
Ask everyone, the same way, and let the ratings fall where they fall.

Google review QR questions
How do I get my Google review link?
Open your Google Business Profile, select “Read reviews” then “Get more reviews”, and Google provides a short link that opens the star rating box directly. Test it on a phone while signed out of your own account.
Do Google reviews help my ranking in Australia?
Yes. Review count, average rating and how recently reviews arrived are all established factors in Google’s local ranking. A steady trickle of genuine reviews is worth more than a burst of them in one week.
Can I offer a discount for leaving a review?
No. Google’s policies prohibit incentivised reviews, and in Australia the practice can also attract ACCC attention as misleading conduct. Ask every customer the same way instead.
Can I only ask happy customers?
That is review gating, and Google explicitly prohibits it. Offer the code to everyone. A handful of mixed reviews also makes a profile look more credible than a wall of perfect fives.
Does a review QR code expire?
No. The code here is static — your review link is encoded into the pattern. It keeps working as long as the Google listing exists, with no subscription.
